Apple AirPods launched in 2016 and were an instant hit with Apple fans, who loved the hands-free convenience of the wireless earbuds and their long battery life (five hours on a single charge). They have since fallen out of fashion as competitors have entered the wireless earbud market and offered more features at lower prices, but there’s still room in the market for Apple to make some improvements, which they’ve done with the new Apple AirPods Pro. Here are the top 10 differences between these two wireless earbuds to help you choose which one is right for you.

Price

Apple AirPods retail for $159 and can be purchased at any Apple store or online. AirPods Pro retail for $329 and can only be purchased on the Apple Store website. The higher price point of the AirPods Pro is due to the increased wireless range, sound quality, and battery life. If you’re looking for an inexpensive but high-quality pair of wireless earbuds, opt for the Apple AirPods. But if you want top-of-the-line audio performance and never want to worry about running out of charge, go with the new Apple AirPods Pro. You’ll pay a premium for this privilege, but it’s worth it when your smartphone runs out of juice in the middle of a commute or other outing.

Design

The newest Apple earbuds, the Apple AirPods Pro, have a few new features that make them worth the price tag. The most notable differences are the longer-lasting battery life and water resistance. The original Apple Airpods last up to five hours on one charge whereas the new Pro version can last up to two days. The newer model is also rated IPX2 (protective against accidental splashing from any direction) which means they can withstand some form of rain or sweat. They also come with a charging case that will give you an extra 24 hours of listening time when you need it most! All in all, if you’re looking for wireless earbuds with enhanced features, then the Apple AirPods Pro would be a great choice for you!

Sound Quality

The sound quality of the Apple AirPods is comparable to other wireless earbuds in its price range. However, people may find that it lacks bass, which can be heard especially when listening to hip-hop and rock music. The noise-cancelling also falls short of some other brands.

The AirPods Pro has a deeper bass as well as better noise-cancelling capabilities. It also comes with a hands-free Siri activation button and an extra charging case, which means you only need to charge one case instead of two! The Apple AirPods are more affordable than the Apple AirPods Pro, but if money isn’t a concern then these earbuds are worth the investment.

Battery Life

If you’re looking for a wireless option with excellent battery life, the Apple AirPods and the Apple Airpods Pro would both work well. The Apple AirPods have a charge time of one hour and can last up to five hours on one charge. The Apple Airpods Pro has a charge time of 20 minutes and can last up to four hours on one charge. If you’re looking for something with more battery life, the Apple Airpods would be your best bet. However, if you’re in an environment where your device is near a power source or there is plenty of time between charges, the Apple Airpods pro might be worth considering because it will last longer per charge than the regular air pods.

Compatibility

The new Apple AirPods Pro is compatible with any phone that has Bluetooth. The original Apple AirPods, on the other hand, only work with iPhones and iPads. The new product also allows for multiple pairing, while the old one can only pair with one device at a time. Plus, the new version offers an all-day battery life of 5 hours per charge (with a 15-minute quick charge in between), which is significantly better than the charging case that comes with the old version.

The ear tips of both versions come in three sizes to accommodate different ear sizes and preferences. Both versions also come in a variety of colors and include a carrying case to make storing them easy.

Ease of Use

Apple AirPods were released in December 2016, and they were well-received by customers because they were the first wireless earbuds that could be used with Apple devices. While Apple’s earphones are easy to use and very convenient, they don’t last as long as other wireless earphones on the market. With a battery life of just 3 hours per charge, you’ll be hard-pressed to find an opportunity to recharge your earphones if you’re using them for an extended period of time. On the other hand, AirPods Pro have a battery life of 5 hours per charge, which is one more hour than Apple’s original model. Additionally, it has splash resistance; Apple AirPods only work when kept dry. Finally, it has a button on the back side of each earpiece for Bluetooth pairing so there’s no need to fumble around for any buttons or switches on the front side.

With these additional features combined with ease of use from Apple AirPods (which means less frustration), AirPods Pro would make better wireless earbuds than Apple’s originals.
