Your laptop isn’t just any ordinary laptop. It’s your workhorse, and it should be as powerful as possible without sacrificing portability, screen size, or battery life. The latest model from Apple—the 2019 15-inch MacBook Pro—is the perfect option to fit this criteria in every way possible, but it does have its downsides that you should be aware of before you make the purchase. Below, we will discuss the pros and cons of the 2019 MacBook Pro so that you can make an informed decision on which features are most important to you.

Introduction

The Apple MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2019) is one of the most powerful laptops on the market. This laptop has an impressive 15.6 inch display with 4 million pixels and up to 5 million pixels in its high resolution mode. It also features Apple’s Touch Bar and Touch ID for seamless access to your favorite apps without typing or needing to remember passwords. The Apple MacBook Pro is available in silver or space gray with an aluminum finish and comes with 8th generation Intel Core processors that can be up to 10 times faster than their previous versions.

Design and Display

The Apple MacBook Pro is the 15-inch laptop for power users. It’s packed with an 8th generation Intel Core i7 processor, 16 GB RAM and 256 GB SSD. The design is sleek and it has a Retina display that looks gorgeous even from wide angles. The ports are all on the left side and there’s two USB-C ports for connecting peripherals like external drives or monitors. Of course, it runs macOS Mojave which is one of the best operating systems available right now.

Keyboard and Touchpad

The keyboard on the new MacBook Pro is noticeably better than that on the previous generation. The keys have more travel and feel more like those found on an Apple desktop keyboard. If you’re looking for a little extra assurance while typing, this is it. The touchpad also feels snappier and more responsive than before; gestures are smoother and scrolling feels much more natural. One thing to note here is that if you’re coming from the older generation model with Touch ID, you’ll have to get used to typing your password every time unless you decide to go out and buy one of those USB fingerprint readers. Speaking of security…

Performance

The Apple MacBook Pro is the gold standard for power and performance. The new 15-inch model is no exception. It has an 8th generation Intel Core i7 quad core CPU, 16GB RAM and 256GB SSD storage. It also features Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 graphics card with Max Q design. The Mac’s battery life is about 10 hours on the 15 model which is impressive for any laptop in this price range.

Battery Life

Apple’s 15-inch MacBook Pro includes battery life up to 10 hours on a single charge. Apple’s website says that battery life varies by use and configuration and that the battery will hold less charge as you use it. We’re not sure if this means that the laptop will be slower when the battery is low or if the charging port gets hot when it’s at 25% or 50%.

Apple also claims that their laptops are designed to balance performance with power efficiency. We were happy to see that this machine has an 8th Generation Intel Core i7 Quad Core processor with speeds up to 4.8 GHz and Turbo Boost speeds up to 5 GHz. It also has 16 GB of RAM and 256GB SSD storage.

Ports and Connectivity

The ports and connectivity are where the Apple MacBook Pro (2019) really shines. It has four Thunderbolt 3 ports that can be used to transfer data at 40Gbps, which is 4 times faster than USB 3.1 Gen 2. There’s also an HDMI port and a SD card reader that can both be used for transferring data or viewing media on larger displays. The Apple MacBook Pro supports up to three external monitors with either DisplayPort or Thunderbolt 3 output.

Operating System and Software

This Apple laptop is powered by the 8th generation Intel Core i7 processor and is equipped with 16GB RAM. It can be purchased with 512GB or 1TB SSD storage space. The Apple MacBook Pro 15 inch 2019 has an optional AMD Radeon Pro 560X GPU. It also has Touch Bar and Touch ID for easy access to your applications and information. The new design features four powerful speaker grilles that cover the entire bottom edge of the laptop for improved sound quality. And lastly, this laptop runs macOS 10.14 Mojave operating system which includes the latest features like Dark Mode, Stacks, Screen Time Limits, and more! Apple’s 2018 update was a hit so they continued on with 2019 as well. They made some changes and included newer updates such as the inclusion of Apple’s TrueTone Technology that adjusts color temperature based on what type of environment you are in. There are four speakers in each corner and this technology improves their performance significantly.

Overall I recommend this laptop to those who have at least $2,699 available to purchase it because it comes at a price point of $2,199 but worth every penny spent. If you’re looking for an Apple device then definitely look into purchasing one of these laptops!

Verdict

Apple has updated its top-of-the line laptop and the result is nothing short of spectacular. The 15 inch Macbook Pro features an Intel Core i7 2.6 GHz 8th Gen processor, 16GB 2400 MHz DDR4 RAM, Radeon Pro 560X with 4 GB VRAM graphics card and 1TB SSD hard drive. The battery lasts up to 10 hours on a single charge which is excellent considering the size of this machine. The display is crisp and bright with 178 degree viewing angles and it’s touch sensitive so you can use your fingers to navigate through the interface instead of using a mouse or track pad. It also comes with an LED backlit display that supports wide color so pictures pop off the screen.
