Essay Vs. Article: An Epistle on the difference between Essay and Article Writing style

Essay Vs. Article

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, there was an ongoing battle between (presumably) Luke Skywalker and the evil Darth Vader. My interest in Star Wars is limited to the old movies. I didn’t follow the details of this epic fight, but I do know that in each movie, interspersed were scenes of people riding on horses and camels travelling to various places across the landscape. I never really watched so intently as to wonder why they kept showing these people instead of having the main characters saving the universe. Looking back, it seems silly that I should be thinking about these men on horses when bigger things are going on. But this is exactly how I feel about article writing, especially when it comes to essay vs article writing style.

As a writer, you must know the difference between essay and article writing styles. You can’t write an essay with an article style. Otherwise, your entire essay will be dismissed as if a newbie wrote it. So what is the difference between an essay and an article? Are they just words used to mean the same thing? Do they have different meanings?

Well, yes. They have different meanings and are not at all interchangeable terms. But if you want to use them interchangeably in your essay or paper, you could do that as long as they’re not used in the same paper (or even in different paragraphs).

Essay:

The essay writing style aims to persuade the reader with authentic evidence regarding a specific topic. Essay topics usually consist of someone’s personal stories and experiences. Types Of Essay Writing:

A narrative essay is written to engage the reader in an emotional and sensory way, just like a story. The whole essay revolves around the central idea of the essay. It communicates a story or experience of any person and engages the reader.

2.     Persuasive Essay:

A persuasive essay is also called an argumentative essay because this writer gives logic and reasons in an argumentative tone and refers to a certain point of view

3.     Expository Essay:

In an Expository essay, the writer uses a very simple writing style to explain or clarify the subject for the reader. An expository essay explores all angles of the topic in a neutral tone.

4.     Descriptive Essay:

In descriptive essay writing, writers usually describe the objects, places, experiences, etc. It is very useful to communicate your experience about an assigned topic.
