FIA investigates 15-year-old Russian athlete on Nazi salute

The governing body of motor sports has launched an investigation into a Russian athlete giving a Nazi salute on the podium of a karting champion.
According to the international media, after winning the first round of the European Championship held in Portugal, Russian athlete Artem Severukhen saluted the Nazis in a fit of emotion.

According to media reports, the athlete has apologized for the act but denied that his gesture was a Nazi salute.

“I have never supported Nazism and I consider it one of the most heinous crimes against humanity,” said athlete Artem Sveriokhin.

The FIA announced on Monday that it had launched an immediate investigation into Severine’s “unacceptable behavior.”

It should be noted that after the invasion of Ukraine by Russian forces, the doors of the World Games were closed to Russian athletes, while Artem Severiukhen took part in the competition under the Italian flag.

Artem’s team terminated his contract after making a clear gesture during the Italian national anthem, slapping him twice on the chest.

“I know it’s my fault, I know I’m stupid, and I’m ready to be punished,” said athlete Severiukhen.

“I did not support Nazism or fascism with this gesture,” said the Russian athlete
