Morbius: The Living Vampire stars Jared Leto as the titular monster, who isn’t quite a man, not quite a vampire. He is an alien with a burning blood that only the power of Jesus can save him. Alongside Leto, the film will star Rooney Mara (from The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo) as Morbius’ girlfriend, Vanessa, and with whom Morbius must cross paths in order to save his life.
Morbius: The Living Vampire is being directed by Daniel Espinosa (Safe House, Life), written by Burk Sharpless (who previously adapted the legendary novel “The Fountain”) and Matt Sazama (Dracula Untold), and produced by Kevin Misher (who produced last year’s Prisoners), along with Burk Sharpless. Sony Pictures will release the film theatrically on October 2nd, 2018.
The news comes just after Leto posted a photo of himself as Morbius along with Franco’s The Room actor, Adam Sandler.
As we mentioned earlier, Sandler is also voicing the character of The Tick in a new animated comedy series coming to Amazon next month. No word yet on when The Tick will hit Netflix.
