LG Display’s Vision for the Future: A 55-Inch Transparent TV at the Foot of Your Bed

LG Display's Vision for the Future: A 55-Inch Transparent TV at the Foot of Your Bed

How cool would it be to have your very own secret TV right at the foot of your bed? LG Display thinks it might not be too far off, as evidenced by its new line of transparent OLED TVs that it showcased at CES 2016. LG’s 55-inch transparent OLED display uses nano-imprint technology to make the panel transparent, while still allowing viewers to see what’s behind the screen while they watch their favorite shows.

 Tech behind this new technology

This new technology from LG Display is based on OLED (organic light emitting diode) technology. This means that each pixel in the display emits its own light, allowing for a much thinner and more energy efficient display. The transparency of the display is achieved by using a special backlight system that only illuminates the pixels that are supposed to be visible.

This backlight system is made up of several small LED units that are spread evenly across the back of the display. These LEDs emit white light onto the pixels so they can’t be seen when looking at the display head-on.

Since it has such a thin screen, this TV will sit right below your mattress or headboard with no frame needed. It will also have an audio system built into it so you can watch movies without having to put on headphones or use speakers. You’ll have an app available to control everything with your phone as well as other devices like Alexa or Google Home. There is no price yet but LG plans to release this type of television next year!

The question of privacy

It’s no secret that technology is becoming more and more invasive. With companies collecting our data and using it to target ads, it can feel like we’re being watched all the time. So, what would it be like if our TVs were transparent? Well, LG has the answer! They’ve developed a prototype that would allow you to watch television while still being able to see your surroundings.

In addition, because the TV isn’t covering up your room like a traditional set, there are some health benefits such as better air quality and less stress on your eyes. If this sounds too good to be true… well unfortunately you’ll have to wait until 2025!

The effect on our culture and relationships

LG Display’s transparent TV concept is one that would definitely have an effect on our culture and relationships. For one, it would make TV viewing a more immersive experience. You would feel like you’re right in the middle of the action, whether you’re watching a movie or your favorite show. Additionally, it could also create a more social atmosphere around TV watching.

Imagine being able to watch a game with friends while still being able to talk and interact with them. This could really change the way we interact with our TVs and with each other. When they unveiled this concept, they noted that TVs used to be big screens, but now there are small screens everywhere.

They want to bring back the feeling of having a large screen. Furthermore, if the entire wall was made out of these TV screens, then everyone in the room would be engaged with what’s happening on screen (as opposed to people sitting alone in their living rooms).

What are your thoughts? Would you want this kind of technology at home? Do you think this will catch on in the future? I don’t know about you, but I’m already starting to get tired of spending so much time staring at my phone and computer screens all day long. If someone can invent a better display technology that doesn’t give me eye strain or migraines, then I’m all ears! Until then, it looks like we’ll just have to stick with our current devices for the foreseeable future.

How we watch TV will change as well as how we interact with each other

LG Display’s vision for the future of television is a 55-inch transparent TV that would be placed at the foot of your bed. This would change how we watch TV, as well as how we interact with each other. The TV would be able to display different images, depending on who is watching it.

For example, if you were watching a movie, your partner could be watching a different movie on their side of the screen. Alternatively, you could both be watching the same movie, but with different audio tracks playing.

This would allow you to hear different things going on in the movie, and potentially even have a conversation about what you’re watching. LG Display believes that this technology could change the way we interact with each other and create new social experiences.

Are we prepared for such a change?

As we move further into the 21st century, it’s not surprising that companies are looking to create new and innovative products that will change the way we live our lives. LG Display’s vision for the future is a perfect example of this. With a 55-inch transparent TV at the foot of your bed, you’ll be able to watch your favorite shows and movies while still being able to see what’s going on in your room. You won’t have to worry about blinding yourself or others with lights or disturbing their sleep because the screen will be semi-transparent.

The size is also appealing, as many people complain that they need something bigger than 50 inches but don’t want to sacrifice anything else in order to get it.

It’s easy to imagine how popular this product would be! However, there are some considerations we need to make before such a purchase can become reality. For one thing, when it comes time for us to go through life changes like marriage or divorce, who gets custody of the TV? I’m sure people will find ways around these obstacles as they always do though!
