Deputy Speaker’s Rolling declared unconstitutional, Supreme Court restores assemblies
It may be recalled that a five-member bench of the Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial delivered a safe verdict in the suo motu notice case against the rolling of the Deputy Speaker on the no-confidence motion.
The Supreme Court in its judgment said that the April 3 rolling of the Deputy Speaker was unconstitutional and therefore the court declared it null and void and ordered to restore the Assemblies.
The decision of the Supreme Court stated that the Prime Minister was not qualified to dissolve the Assemblies while the court also quashed the orders of the caretaker government of President Dr Arif Ali.
