Samsung Galaxy A72 – Release Date, Price, News and Features

The new Samsung Galaxy A72 has just been released, and at first glance, it appears to be an impressive device with the latest specs, a sleek design and lots of top-of-the-line features that should make it perfect for business use or even as your daily driver. But should you rush out and buy this phone or should you keep waiting? Here’s everything you need to know about the new Samsung Galaxy A72 release date, price, news and features before deciding whether this phone will be right for you or not.

 What is the new phone?

The Galaxy A Series of smartphones are typically more affordable in comparison to the flagship series like the Samsung Galaxy S line. With that said, Samsung is not skimping on specs for its newest release the Samsung Galaxy A72.

Highlights include a 6.4-inch full HD+ Infinity-U Super AMOLED display which supports HD+ resolution in an 18:9 aspect ratio with a whopping 95% screen-to-body ratio (the Infinity displays also support HDR10). The Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chip comes clocked at 2.2GHz octa-core with 4GB RAM and Adreno 512 GPU (well above average) or you can get it with 4GB/64GB storage or 6GB/128GB storage depending on your preference. There’s a 3000mAh battery under the hood but there’s no fast charging out of the box, so you may want to invest in one before purchasing this phone.

 Predictions on the price

It is expected that the price of the Samsung Galaxy A72 will be different depending on which country you are purchasing it in. It may be even more expensive than $540. The Samsung Galaxy S10 costs around $749. If a phone is only marginally better than last year’s model, the price could be much higher due to increased market competition.

For example, the iPhone XR costs about $750 while Apple’s newest model (the iPhone XS) cost around $1,000. There have been some leaks that seem to indicate that the prices for these phones would be similar but we won’t know for sure until an official announcement from Samsung comes out. We’ll update this blog post with more information as soon as we can.

 Rumors and leaks so far

The Samsung Galaxy A72 is a phone that has been heavily leaked in the past few weeks. It is rumored to have a 6.3-inch AMOLED display with waterdrop notch as well as a rear fingerprint scanner. The selfie camera could be in the top right corner, but no specifics about it have been revealed so far. Storage for the phone starts at 64GB with 4GB of RAM. There are 3 different versions with different specs: 2GB/32GB, 3GB/64GB and 4GB/128 GB. All three versions will come with a triple card slot on the left side of the device.

The phone also features an upgraded battery which provides an improved charging time by 10%. The power button is on the left side of the device which some people may find awkward because they usually use their index finger to unlock their phones from this position.

 Potential launch dates

-It is said that the release date of Samsung Galaxy A72 will be in 2020.

-The Samsung Galaxy A72 is expected to be more affordable than its predecessor (Galaxy S10) and probably will not sport a punch hole display.

-The device could come with a 6.2 screen while the resolution would be 720x1560p. It is most likely going to come with the Android OS installed which was mentioned in previous leaks on the internet. The camera system of the phone should have at least 12MP + 12MP dual back cameras with a 10MP front shooter, making it extremely easy for people to take beautiful photos all day long without worrying about camera quality. Other features are still unknown but I’m sure they’ll be released soon.

New features in comparison to its predecessors

The new Samsung Galaxy A72 has been unveiled at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019. It is the company’s latest smartphone offering to the budget segment.

It features a MediaTek Helio P22 processor with four Cortex-A73 cores clocked at 2.0GHz and four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.5GHz. It has 3GB of RAM with 32GB of storage plus an SD card slot. The display measures 6.1 inches across the diagonal on a Super AMOLED display with HD+ resolution (480×720 pixels).

The Android 8 operating system is in place out of the box which will be upgradeable to Android 10 soon after launch in some markets. The 12MP rear camera can record 4K video while the front camera comes with a 5MP sensor. There is also facial recognition software for unlocking the phone and there are three speakers tuned by AKG.

The Samsung Galaxy A72 price starts from $180 without contract or subsidies when bought online from third party retailers like Amazon, eBay or GearBest.
