Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that the army in the coastal city of Mariupol is preparing for its final defense today. President Zelensky accused Russia of seeking to destroy the eastern part of the Donbass.

According to the French news agency AFP, Russia is moving towards its great victory in the Ukrainian city of Mario Pool, but the Ukrainian government has decided to fight and defend the city at all costs.

 

It should be noted that the Russian forces had given an ultimatum to the Ukrainian soldiers present at the Azovstal steel plant to surrender and surrender to them.

On the other hand, the Ukrainian government has urged the citizens of Donbass to move to the western region to avoid Russian aggression.

 

Ukrainian President Zelensky said in a statement last evening that Russian forces intended to launch an early offensive in the eastern part of the country and that they were “ultimately planning to destroy Donbass.”

The city of Mariupol has shown unexpectedly strong resistance since Russia’s military operation against Ukraine began on February 24.

 

Speaking to a news channel, the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Schmeihal said that the city of Mariupol has not been captured yet, there are still Ukrainian forces who will fight to the last and will not surrender under any circumstances.

The Ukrainian prime minister said that although several cities were currently under siege by Russian forces, no town other than Khairson had been completely captured, and that more than 900 towns and cities had been recaptured by Ukrainian forces.
