The National Institute of Cardiology (NICVD) was renamed as Sindh Institute of Cardiology (SICVD).
Earlier, the Sindh Assembly had passed a resolution on the change, Dawn reported.
The former NICVD and current SICVD is the world’s largest health network, with 10 hospitals and 22 chest and pain units across the province for the treatment of patients with heart disease.
Allegations of withholding free treatment at NICVD denied
According to officials, about 1.9 million patients were provided free treatment at SIVD last year, including 3,227 surgeries and 17,000 percutaneous coronary interventions.
