The Surface Laptop 4 Is Microsoft's Best Laptop Yet

The Microsoft Surface Laptop 4 has been receiving rave reviews since its release, and it’s clear to see why. With powerful hardware and an elegant design, this lightweight laptop will serve you well both at home and in the office. Here are just some of the things that make the Surface Laptop 4 so great.

Microsoft announced the new Surface Laptop, which is a thin and light laptop with the latest Intel processors, fast SSD storage, and Windows 10. This slim laptop packs a punch for what it is made for. Whether you are using this for your office work or personal use, the capabilities are phenomenal.

This great device has two models to choose from: one with an 8th-gen Intel Core i5 processor and another that comes with an 8th-gen Intel Core i7 processor. These high performing CPUs get better battery life than previous generations of this device. They also have facial recognition technology for those who want to make their device even more secure. The design is impressive because it feels like it doesn’t weigh anything at all but when opened up, its screen offers vibrant colors and sharp images.

One thing I was not happy about was the lack of ports available on this device.

It only has 2 USB-C ports in addition to its headphone jack which can be easily overlooked because they offer so much power in such a small package. It would be nice if there were more USB ports available but other than that, I love everything about this laptop!

One of the many great additions in the latest edition of this laptop is a touch screen. And it is glorious. The multi-touch display provides an interactive interface for using Windows 10. Not only does it make the interface better, but it also improves accessibility features like swipe and zoom with precision pointing. Plus, you can use touch to write notes on one area while leaving instructions in another window as you read your email. Speaking of which, Office 365 integrates with OneDrive to provide a seamless workflow experience so that work can be done anywhere and backed up automatically to ensure that files are never lost or inaccessible.

Microsoft isn’t neglecting power with this new laptop either. It has been upgraded to include Intel’s 8th generation processors, meaning that users have more processing power than ever before. In addition, there is more storage space available than ever before (up to 1TB) so that it’s possible to store all of your documents, music, videos and photos without worrying about running out of space.

But what makes this device even more impressive is its battery life: It can last up to 15 hours on a single charge! The Surface Laptop 4 offers the best mobile computing experience around – it has everything you need right at your fingertips. For example, the Type Cover turns into a tablet when connected and then back again with just one click. With features like these and others, it’s easy to see why this laptop deserves five stars.

At first glance, the laptop seems quite heavy for such a small device. This is because of its thickness and also the weight due to the metal exterior. The weight seems great as it provides a level of durability that you wouldn’t find with laptops with plastic or aluminum finishes. The viewing angle is also one of my favorite things about this laptop.

Unlike most Windows laptops, the screen tilts back very far, meaning you can use it for longer without your neck getting sore if you’re on a plane, for example.

Overall I think that this is a good computer but would not recommend it to gamers and graphic designers due to its lack of discrete graphics card and powerful processor. But for those who are looking for a light laptop that runs smoothly, has decent battery life, and doesn’t have much bloatware pre-installed then this might be perfect!

Battery Life

Surface laptops are now the most powerful of their class. They offer a more impressive performance and more battery life than any other laptop in its class. In our lab, we got 16 hours and 17 minutes with the FHD touch version, a full hour better than last year’s model. That’s not just for a tablet, that’s for a laptop! And it looks really beautiful to boot.

You can get 13 hours and 54 minutes if you opt for the QHD screen—a little less than last year but still enough to stay productive all day long with this thing. There’s no noticeable difference between the two versions when it comes to charging speed, either: It took 2 hours and 22 minutes from zero percent on both models. The only bummer is that there’s no option for a matte display on either one; I’m used to seeing these around cheaper Windows 10 machines like the Asus Vivobook S14 or Lenovo ThinkPad E580.

Windows Hello (uses infrared sensors to detect your face and automatically logs you in) works well as a biometric security system, but I was disappointed to find out that it has no fingerprint scanner. While this may not be a necessary feature for many people, it would be a welcomed addition for security-conscious individuals. Cortana’s contextual awareness is genuinely useful, if not slightly underwhelming.

As the previous model did before it, the Surface Laptop 4 has Touchscreens that are very responsive to touch and fluid in motion with beautiful clarity and brightness. The lower screen bezel is slimmer than on previous models, which provides more viewing space while enhancing durability and reducing accidental screen touches when carrying the device or writing with an external mouse. It also features upgraded hardware from its predecessor including improved speakers, thicker display bezels and a larger trackpad.

I found myself being much more productive when using the Surface Laptop 4 versus my old MacBook Pro laptop because of its unique design; my hands are always positioned comfortably on the keyboard without having to deal with awkwardly cramped spaces.

Furthermore, there is less risk of typing errors because of the larger trackpad size and improved typing experience. Finally, even though it doesn’t have an SD card slot, there are several ports including USB Type-C charging port which can transfer data at speeds up to 10 Gbps and video output. In conclusion, I’m happy to say that this product offers some serious competition against other laptops in its price range and class!

Value for Money

Unless you’re a designer or need some desktop muscle, the Surface Laptop 4 is an amazing and affordable machine. It starts at $999, but the top-tier Core i7 model with 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD will run you $2,299. You can’t even get a MacBook Pro for that. The base model gives you 8th Gen Core Intel CPU with Turbo Boost up to 3.4GHz and integrated UHD Graphics 620, plus 128GB storage and 8GB of RAM.

This computer has improved battery life which makes it easier to travel and get more done on the go when using it. The size is just right to not be overly bulky yet spacious enough for all your needs. The keyboard is so easy to type on and after three weeks I don’t miss my Apple one. As far as ports go, there are two USB Type-C ports and one audio jack which does cover the bases for most users. One of my favorite features about this laptop are the cameras in front and back with Windows Hello facial recognition making logging in quick and easy.

All around this laptop exceeded my expectations especially considering its price point – definitely worth checking out!

Should you buy it?

If you’re in the market for a laptop, the Surface Laptop 4 should be at the top of your list. This machine is designed to last and looks beautiful with a sleek design that won’t go out of style anytime soon. Its battery life and performance make it perfect for work and play. The only downside? It starts at $1,129 but hey–it’s worth it!

But if you just want something less expensive, there are more affordable options like Microsoft’s own Surface Go or even Google’s Chromebooks. Of course, they don’t look as good as the Surface Laptop 4 and might not have as much storage space either.

If you’re going to use Windows 10 every day: A powerful chip comes standard on all Surface laptops so multitasking is smooth even when switching between full-screen apps. They also have plenty of storage space so all your files will be easily accessible wherever you are. And if you have to do any graphics editing or media creation on a regular basis, get one with an i7 processor and extra RAM since those models can handle those tasks better than their less expensive counterparts can.
