US responds to success of no-confidence motion against Imran Khan

US officials say they are monitoring the political situation in the country following a successful no-confidence motion against former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan.

A statement issued by the State Department in Washington DC said that it was keeping a close watch on the political situation in Pakistan following the successful no-confidence motion against former Prime Minister Imran Khan.

The US State Department statement also advised Pakistan’s political parties to abide by the constitution and the rule of law.

US State Department officials have expressed hope that Pakistan’s political parties will adhere to good governance and democratic values.

Former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan has accused the United States of trying to stop him from visiting Russia in the last week of February, and for failing to do so, a no-confidence motion was launched against him with the help of opposition parties. ۔

Former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan had said that the United States wanted to oust his government in return for a visit to Russia.

On the other hand, the US State Department had strongly denied Imran Khan’s statement and said that the US had no such intention and the allegations were baseless.
